Feast Day: August 11
Patron Saint of Infants, babies, and youth
St. Philomena is known as the Patron Saint of Infants, Babies, and Youth. Despite the mystery surrounding her life and martyrdom, devotion to Philomena has spread widely after the discovery of her relics in the early 19th century. She is believed to have been a young Greek princess martyred in the early centuries of the Church, steadfast in her vow of virginity and faith in Christ despite persecution. Miracles attributed to her intercession, particularly involving children and young people, led to her canonization and widespread veneration. St. Philomena's story inspires the faithful with her purity, resilience, and powerful patronage in heaven.
